Uber Driver App

The Uber Driver App

What does the Uber Driver App look like and how does it work?

Do you need the Uber Driver App? Is it easy?

Yes, if you are planning on being a driver for Uber. If you are only a rider, there is no need to download this app. The app really cannot get much simpler, for how much it actually does. A little time in the app, and you will be a comfortable pro in no time.

What does it look like?

The first thing you will see when you open up the Uber Driver App is the top second photo. It will show you a map of where you are close to according to your GPS. If you have all of your documents uploaded and are in good standing with Uber, all you have to do is press the “GO” button, and wait for your first rider request.

At the top of that photo shows a dollar amount in black for the day. (My screenshot currently says $0.00) After each ride, it will tell you how much you have made, which is great if you are wanting to set a daily goal and easily see where you are at. Once you have taken trips, you will be able to press that dollar amount, and slide it to the left to see how much you have made on bonuses or the weekly amount, or how many rides you have taken to get a bonus amount. Furthermore, you can also make that dollar amount invisible so that the riders in your car do not see how much you have made after you end the ride.

Driver Profile in the Uber Driver App

On the top right corner of the Uber Driver App, you will see your driver photo. Click that photo to get to your account options, profile, and to see your earnings for that week. Here is where you can change your documents, upload photos, make sure all your information is correct. Also, you can look at your app settings, see your notifications from Uber, and access the Help page.

Vehicles

If you have more than one vehicle, you can select the vehicles tab and choose which vehicle you would like to drive for that day. Be sure to check out this page for the kind of vehicles required to drive.

Heat Map

You can see by the intense heat map on my screenshot, that today is a super busy and profitable day. Each area shows the price of each ride you will get if you pick up someone in that location. I guarantee you that if it is that busy, there are a ton of drivers there as well. Don’t let that deter you, there are tons of riders as well. The more you drive, the more Uber recognizes you as a consistent driver with a high acceptance rate, and will send you more riders. You just need to prove yourself to be reliable.
